Terms of Use

These Terms of Use set out the conditions for using the iOS app "Neko Nade" (the "App") provided by Keiji Hirose (the "Operator"). By using the App, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

1. About the Service

The App is a wordless, non-verbal social app in which cats drawn by users wander the world's landmarks and exchange "hearts" (pets) with cats drawn by other users. No account is required; users are identified only by an anonymous device ID (UUID) generated on the device. There is no login or registration of personal information.

2. User-Generated Content (UGC)

The cat you draw (line-art PNG) and your hometown are sent to a shared pool and displayed and shared with other users as public content.

Only drawings of cats may be submitted. Please do not submit anything other than a cat (dogs, people, text, shapes, etc.).
Content that infringes others' rights (copyright, trademark, likeness, etc.), or that is obscene, violent, discriminatory, or otherwise contrary to public order and morals, is prohibited.
You represent and warrant that you hold the rights necessary to submit the drawings you create.

3. Moderation (Report, Hide, Block)

Swiping another user's cat up (tossing it) reports, hides, and blocks that cat (one gesture, three actions).
A reported cat is immediately hidden from all users.
If a device's cats are reported by multiple different users, that device's posts stop being shown to other users (exclusion).
The Operator reviews reports and removes rule-breaking content and excludes the posting device within 24 hours.

4. Use of AI (the black cat's small talk)

When you pet the rare "black cat" that occasionally appears, a short text automatically generated by AI (Claude, by Anthropic) in the local language is shown. This content is fiction for entertainment and its accuracy, appropriateness, and usefulness are not guaranteed. Due to the nature of generative AI, unintended expressions may appear.

5. Prohibited Conduct

Acts that violate laws or public order and morals
Posting content that violates Section 2
Interfering with operation of the App, unauthorized access, reverse engineering, etc.
Placing excessive load on the server via automated tools, etc. (IP / device rate limits are in place)
Any other act the Operator deems inappropriate

6. Advertising

The App is provided free of charge and displays ads (Google AdMob) to support its operation. See the Privacy Policy for how ads are handled.

7. Intellectual Property

Intellectual property rights in the App and its text, images, characters, logos, etc. belong to the Operator or the rightful holders. Rights in the drawings you create belong to you, but you grant the Operator a license to use them as needed for display and sharing within the App.

8. Disclaimer

The Operator does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of the App or the content displayed.
The App may be changed, suspended, or terminated without notice.
The Operator is not liable for damages arising from use of the App, to the extent permitted by law.

9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute relating to the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over the Operator's location as the court of first instance.
