Hundred Penguins — An Antarctic icebreaker puzzle
Push icebergs, save penguins

Out in the Antarctic sea, penguins are stranded on icebergs.

The base has 8 icebreakers.
Push your way through the drifting ice, take the penguins aboard, and bring them home.

Hit an iceberg you can't push, and your ship goes down.
But the next ship sails out into the same sea.
Only you remember where the last one went wrong.

MISSION8 ships. 100 penguins.

icebreakers at base,
one per voyage

HOW TO PLAYPush. Read. Deliver.

STEP 1

Push

Swipe left or right to steer. Your ship pushes the iceberg ahead diagonally back, to whichever side is open. If both sides are open, which way it goes is up to the ice.

STEP 2

Read

If both places an iceberg could be pushed to (down-left and down-right) are blocked, it won't budge — and your ship sinks. Big icebergs never move. Before a band arrives, check the icebergs in your column one at a time, nearest first. Every band has at least one column you can push all the way through.

STEP 3

Deliver

Push an iceberg with a penguin on it and the penguin hops aboard. The more you carry, the higher your multiplier. Drop them off at base and work your way to 100.

Which icebergs can you push?
Left: one diagonal side is open, so the iceberg can be pushed. Middle: both sides blocked, the ship sinks. Right: against the edge with the one side blocked, the ship sinks.

Bring 100 penguins safely back to base
  1. Swipe left or right to steer the ship. Swipe up to sail a little faster
  2. Your ship pushes the iceberg ahead diagonally back, to whichever side is open. Think before you push
  3. Hit an iceberg that can't be pushed back, or a big iceberg, and your ship sinks. The captain and the penguins aboard are thrown into the sea
  4. Push an iceberg with a penguin on it and the penguin hops aboard. The more you carry, the higher your score multiplier. Drop them off when you reach base
  5. The base has 8 icebreakers. Each voyage uses one. If a ship sinks, the next one tries the same sea again
  6. You start with 3 captains. Rescue a captain stranded on an iceberg to gain one. When you run out of captains or ships, it's over
  7. Deliver 100 penguins by Ship 8. Each unused ship is worth a 10,000-point bonus
  8. Break a rainbow iceberg for Color Mode. Line up icebergs of the same color vertically or horizontally to clear them and rescue their penguins
  9. From Stage 4, a whale lurks under the ice. Watch out when its shadow moves behind your ship. If it rams you, you lose points and your penguins escape

CAPTAINSShips sink. Captains wait.

A stranded captain waving from an iceberg

When your ship hits an iceberg it can't push, it goes down — and just before it does, the captain and the penguins aboard are thrown into the sea.

But the captain survives. Somewhere in the Antarctic sea, they're standing on an iceberg, waving for help.

When you spot someone on the ice, that's a captain from an earlier ship. Push the iceberg to pick them up and you gain a captain. You start with three — every rescue is one more chance to sail.

FEATURESWhat makes it tick

THINK

Reading, not reflexes

The ice drifts at the same speed in every stage — swipe up only when you want to speed things along. It's not about timing; it's about working out where you can push your way through.

RETRY

The same sea, again

When a ship sinks, the next one takes on the same sea, down to the same layout of icebergs. Every mistake becomes a clue.

SCORE

Your crew is your multiplier

Every penguin you take aboard raises your score multiplier until you reach base. There, everyone hops off and counts as delivered, and the multiplier starts over at ×1. But sink or get rammed by the whale on the way, and you lose the penguins aboard and drop to ×1. The fuller the ship, the more carefully you should steer.

COLOR

Color Mode: the big haul

Break a rainbow iceberg and the ice turns three colors. Push icebergs so same colors touch vertically or horizontally, and they all clear at once. Points come in by the number cleared × your multiplier, and every penguin on those icebergs is rescued in one go. It lasts until the stage ends or your ship sinks — your best chance for a huge score.

WHALE

A whale, from Stage 4

Now and then a sperm whale breaks through the ice, then dives and circles as a shadow. If it gets behind your ship and rams you, you lose points and your penguins escape.

RANKING

Game Center leaderboards

Two leaderboards: your score when you deliver 100, and the number of penguins you deliver. Fewer ships used means a bigger bonus.

FAQQuestions

I'm not great at fast games. Can I still play?▼
Yes. The ice always drifts at the same speed — it never speeds up as the stages go on. This is a game about reading the way through, not reaction time. Once you're comfortable, you can swipe up to sail a little faster.
Can I play offline?▼
Yes. The internet is only used for ads, Game Center leaderboards, and the “Remove ads” purchase. There's no account or login.
How many ads are there?▼
A full-screen ad appears once after clearing Stage 3, Stage 5, and Stage 7. There are no banner ads.
Also, from Stage 3 on, if you run out of captains you'll see a button to watch an ad for one more captain (once per game). That ad only plays if you choose to tap it.
Can I remove the ads?▼
Yes. “Remove ads” at the top of the ☰ menu is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It stops the ads between stages. The optional ad for an extra captain stays available, since you only watch it when you choose to.
I got a new iPhone. How do I get my purchase back?▼
Sign in with the same Apple ID and tap “Restore Purchases” in the ☰ menu. Ads will be removed again at no extra charge.
Why isn't my score on the leaderboard?▼
Leaderboards use Apple's Game Center. Please sign in to Game Center in your iPhone's Settings. Your score is sent only when you deliver 100 penguins; the penguins-delivered leaderboard is updated every time a game ends.
Is it available in Japanese?▼
Yes — the app supports English and Japanese. Use [EN / 日本語] at the right of the in-game header to switch. Your choice is remembered.
Which devices are supported?▼
Hundred Penguins is made for iPhone (portrait). On iPad, it runs in the iPhone layout.
